HAVA COMMITTEES

HAVA requires every state to form an advisory committee to write a "state plan" or roadmap of how our state will comply with the Act's requirements and what improvements can be made to our election system. In order to include as many people as possible we have formed an Advisory Committee of 15 members, with "working groups" that include additional members. The working groups will study particular mandates of HAVA and make recommendations to the Advisory Committee.

The first meeting of the task force was held on February 10, 2003. The objective of the first meeting was to provide an overview of the law and to identify the questions that the "state plan" must answer. The public is welcome to attend all task force and working group meetings.
