WILLIAM H. CARRIS of West Rutland, Rutland County, Democrat, was born in Hanover, NH, on August 23, 1944, and raised in Rochester, Ludlow and Rutland (from 1952). He was educated in local schools, graduating from Rutland High School and Castleton State College in Castleton, VT. Bill served three years in the US Army. He married Barbara Tracy in 1967 and they have four children and 6 grandchildren: Tracy, Jennifer, Jesse, and Emily. Bill worked in the family business (Carris Reels, Inc.) and purchased it in 1982. MARGARET K. FLORY of Pittsford, Rutland County, Republican, was born in Colchester, Vermont, on August 2, 1948. Occupation: Attorney.
