    MIKE MROWICKI

MIKE MROWICKI of Putney, Windham County, Democrat, was born in Jersey City, N.J. on September 27, 1954. His Democratic roots go back to all four grandparents who came to this country from Poland after WWI. They brought with them a legacy of hope, hard work and service to others that was further nurtured by his parents and led to his decision to give back through public service, and now in the Vt. House. Mike moved to Putney in 1981, in Vermont’s beautiful, but often forgotten, “SOUTH-East Kingdom”. His daughters Grace and Maria were both born and raised in Putney and inspired his move from working in nurseries with plants, to working in nurseries with children This grew into a profession as a child care worker, parent educator, and various involvement in youth and community development. In 1990, Mike was recognized by the Windham Child Care Association with their initial Child Care Commitment Award. He is currently Director of Putney Family Services, and also serves on various boards and committees including the Putney Community Health Center and Affordable Housing Committee. Mike is also a member of the Putney Quaker Meeting and was Clerk from 2003-6. Music is an avocation for Mike and he has released 4 albums of original music with Vt. Timbre. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he also enjoys running, bilking, quiet water kayaking, cross country skiing and “geezer- basketball”.
