MARY C. HOOPER of Montpelier, Washington County, Democrat, was born in Heidelberg Germany where her father was serving in the U.S. Army. She has lived in Montpelier since 1979 with her husband, Jim Slinkman who is a physicist working for IBM. They have one son. She has been the executive director of the Vermont Association of Conservation Districts, a Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industry, and a founder and the first executive director of the Montpelier Downtown Community Association. She is currently serving in her third term as Mayor of the City of Montpelier. She has served on a number of City Boards and Commissions and some of her current associations include: trustee of the Vermont College of the Fine Arts, Vice Chair of the Central Vermont Community Action Council, member of the Washington County Hunger Council and a member of the board of Trustees of the Orton Foundation.     WARREN FREDERICK KITZMILLER    


WARREN FREDERICK KITZMILLER of Montpelier, Washington County, Democrat, was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on March 21, 1943. He moved to Vermont in 1963 and became a resident of Montpelier in 1974, when he founded Onion River Sports, from which he is now retired. He was appointed to the House in 2001, following the death of his wife, the late State Representative Karen Kitzmiller. In 2006, he married his childhood friend, Jeanne Cariati. They have four adult children, Amy & Carrie Kitzmiller and Renee & Joseph Cariati. Member of : Vermont Retail Association; Friends of the Vermont State House, Trustee; Lost Nation Theater, Director; Montpelier Downtown Community Association, Founder. Former member of: Montpelier City Council, Planning Commission, Recreation Board, Justice of the Peace. Member of the House: 2001-2002, 2003-2004, 2005-2006, 2007-2008, 2009-2010.
