THOMAS F. KOCH of Barre Town, Washington County, Republican, was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, on November 24, 1942. Occupation: retired attorney. He was educated at elementary schools in River Edge, New Jersey; (retired) River Dell Regional Senior High School, Oradell, New Jersey; Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont (A.B., 1964); University of Chicago Law School, Chicago, Illinois (J.D., 1967). He is married to the former Sally J. Tucker, and they have a daughter and a son. He served in the U.S. Army, 1968-1970, as Captain of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Vietnam. Member of: Barre Town Charter Committee, 1973-75; Barre Town moderator, 1984-present; Spaulding Union High School Merger Committee, 1987; Churchwide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, member, 1991, 1997 and 1999; Scoutmaster, Troop 95, Barre, 1989-1992, 2008-; Iroquois District, chair, Boy Scouts of America, 1992-2000; Vice President for District Operations, Green Mountain Council, 2002-2003, and vice president for administration, 2003-; presented with the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to youth, 1996; Barre Lions Club. Member of the House: 1977-78, 1979-80, 1997-98, 1999-2000, 2001-2002, 2003-2004, 2005-2006, 2007-2008, 2009-2010. FRANCIS MATTHEW "TOPPER" MCFAUN of Barre Town, Washington County, Republican, was born on April 19, 1939, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and became a resident of present town in 1967. Retired after 38 years of employment with VT State Government. He was educated at St. Peters Elementary School, Cambridge, Massachusetts; Rindge Technical High School, Cambridge, Massachusetts; Boston University, Boston Massachusetts, B.S., Education, 1963; and took graduate courses at Boston College, Boston, Massachusetts; Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts; and University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont. He is married to Mary Howland McFaun, and they have 2 daughters and 1 son. Current memberships and affiliations: Co-Chair Capitol Campaign Committee Recycle North; People’s Health and Wellness Clinic, board member; Barre Area Development Corporation, Past President, Board Member; Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation , Board member and past president; Central Vermont Workforce Investment Board, Board member and past chairperson.
