THERESE M. "TESS" TAYLOR
of Barre, Washington County, Democrat was born in Rome, NY on April 24, 1958. She came to Vermont in 1976 to attend St. Michael’s College in Winooski Park, graduating in 1980 with a BA in Business Administration. She is the former Executive Director of the Pine Street Arts & Business Association in Burlington. In 2001, she accepted the position of Executive Director of Studio Place Arts in Barre, and chose to live in Barre in 2003 when she moved on to become General Manager of the Vermont Granite Museum. Today, she is the Director of Education & Public Programming for the Vermont Historical Society in Barre and in Montpelier. Tess is presently on the Spaulding High School Board where she served until recently as chair, and formerly served as chair of the Barre Supervisory Union. She serves on the Barre Partnership Board, The Central Vermont Workforce Investment Board, The Barre Historical Society and is a Barre Rotarian.
