SARAH LOUISE COPELAND HANZAS
of Bradford, Orange County, Democrat, was born on July 9, 1970 in Lake Forest, Illinois. Occupation: Trained as a secondary science teacher, works currently in long and short term substitute teaching and occasionally in the family business, Copeland Furniture. She was educated at the University of Vermont (BA History, 1992, Geology 1993) and earned her teaching certificate through the Upper Valley Teacher institute in 1995. She is married to John P. Hanzas, Jr and they have three daughters. Serves on the board of Little Rivers FQHC, Bradford Workforce Investment Board, Bradford Health Coalition, Bradford Merchant’s Association, Oxbow Booster’s Club, Boys and Girls Club steering committee and is Chair of Bradford’s At-Risk Evaluation committee. She is a volunteer youth sports coach, Sunday school teacher and volunteers at Bradford Elementary school. She is a member of the National Legislative Association on Prescription Drug Pricing and is a 2006 graduate of Vermont Leadership Institute.
