          ADAM BREWSTER HOWARD

ADAM BREWSTER HOWARD was born to Vermont parents in Montrose, Scotland December 23, 1973 while his father was serving overseas. Ever since, he’s been a resident of his ancestral home in Cambridge, Vermont. Howard was educated at Cambridge Elementary School, Lamoille Union High School, and later received a BA in Political Science, from Western State College, in Gunnison, Colorado in 1997. Upon returning to Vermont, Howard was a builder, professional ski patroller, freelance writer, and newspaper reporter before co-founding Height of Land Publications in Jeff in 2002. Jeffersonville-based HOL has grown to publish Backcountry, Telemark Skier and Alpinist magazines and their corresponding websites and social media efforts. His pursuit of business and skiing has not been at the expense of his community where he was a founding member and first president of the Cambridge Historical Society and the Brewster River Mountain Bike Club. He currently serves as chair of the Ancient Roads Committee, and vice-chair of the Development Review Board. Howard volunteers with the Rotary and at the Smuggler’s Notch Ski Club to foster community awareness and promote active outdoors lifestyles with Lamoille County youth. He lives in his solar and wind-powered home with wife Holly and daughters Hazel and Antonia. Home phone: 644-2040. Work phone: 644-6606 x 205. Email: howie@holpublications.com.
