MICHEL A. CONSEJO of Sheldon, in Franklin County, Democrat, was born on December 9, 1950 in Paris, France. Michel moved to the United States in 1980, and proudly became a U.S. citizen on November 14, 1986. He has been a member of the House since 2007. Michel has owned businesses most of his life. He was Co-owner & Co-founder of Huet-Consejo General Contracting in Paris, 1975-1980. He moved to Vermont in 1980 as Co-owner/Operator of the Jay Village Inn, 1980-1984. He moved to Sheldon in 1988 to work for L&T Satellite Systems, a business he purchased in 1990 and operated in Highgate until 2008. Michel has a long record of civic engagement and community involvement. He is currently active as: Executive Board Member of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators (NHCSL), Board Member of Franklin County Home Health, Chair of the Sheldon Franklin County Democratic Party, Sheldon Justice of the Peace, Sheldon Notary Public, Charter Member & Past President of the Free Spirit Motorcycle Club (non-profit, fundraising organization), and a Lifetime Member of the North American Fishing Club. Past memberships include: Charter Member & Past President of the Jay Volunteer Fire Department, Jay Area Chamber of Commerce, Newport Chamber of Commerce, Jay Peak Lodging Association, and Vermont Hospitality & Travel Agency. Michel is married to Dr. Tammie Colburn Consejo, a native Vermonter. They have four children and three grandchildren. FRANKLIN-5 BRIAN K. SAVAGE BRIAN K. SAVAGE of Swanton, Franklin County, Republican was born in St. Albans, Vt. on April 12, 1955, and has been a lifelong resident of Swanton. He and his wife Lynn, have three adult children; Sean, Geoff, and Vickie. Savage was educated at the former St. Anne’s Academy and graduated from Missisquoi Valley Union High School in 1973. He has attended the Northern New England School of Banking and is a graduate of the New England School of Banking at Williams College. He had been employed in the banking and financial industry for 33 years and since January 2007, has owned and operated North Valley Business Consulting, LLC, a small business and municipal consulting firm. He is a past member of the Swanton Zoning Board of Adjustment and served from 1993 to 2008 as a member of the Swanton Village Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Swanton Village Fire Department and the Swanton Chamber of Commerce, where he is currently serving as a director.
