CHITTENDEN-7-2 KRISTY SPENGLER KRISTY SPENGLER resident of Malletts Bay Colchester, born March 5, 1953, New York. Moved to Vermont in 1969 and to Colchester in 1990. Graduate of Burlington High School and the University of Vermont, 1975 B.S. Nursing. Graduate of the Women’s Small Business Program. Kristy is currently a home care nurse for the visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties. Married to Jeff Spengler and has a son Reid, a stepdaughter Sarah and a stepson Nick. Owned a small business, Make a Difference. This emphasized the power and responsibility of our consumer choices to build strong local economies, prevent environmental degradation and strengthen our democracy. Member of the House Agriculture Committee 2007- 2008 learned from Vermont farmers that by supporting local food systems we strengthen our local economy and our environment. Now serves on Fish, Wildlife and Water Resources works on legislation to protect our wildlife populations on land and in the water by protecting and preserving their habitat. Kristy states Global Warming is an immediate catastrophic threat. We must work quickly to invest in efficiency, conservation and clean renewable energy while changing transportation practices to rapidly decrease emissions. These measures will create many much needed good paying local jobs.
