DEBBIE G. EVANS of Essex, Chittenden County, Democrat, was born in McKeesport , Pennsylvania on 27 July , 1952, and has lived in Essex Town for 33 years. She was educated in elementary and high school in West Newton, Pa. She attended Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pa. and graduated with a BS degree in Speech and Hearing Pathology in 1974. She has worked as a speech and language pathologist in Pittsburgh , New York and Vermont. Debbie is married to Edward K. Evans, and they have three grown sons, Paul, Andrew, Don and a grown daughter, Paige and a 4 year old grand daughter, Helen Mae. She is a member of the Essex Board of Civil Authority and is a Justice of the Peace. She is currently a member of the Essex Rotary Club. Debbie volunteers on many community boards in Essex. CHITTENDEN-6-1 LINDA K. MYERS LINDA K. MYERS of Essex, Chittenden County, Republican, was born in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, on August 18, 1940, and became a resident of Essex in 1978. Occupation: Retired newspaper editor. She was educated at schools in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a graduate (1962) of Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, with a bachelor’s degree in journalism/political science. She is the widow of Rep. Martin J. Myers and has two daughters, Robyn and Kasey, and two sons-in-law, Scott and Mark. She is a member of the Essex Selectboard, the Essex Board of Civil Authority, the Essex Town Republican Committee, The Association of Women in Communications, the National Association of Female Executives, and is a Justice of the Peace. She is a former cheerleading coach at Essex High School, and has been involved in cheerleading on the local, state and national levels for 25 years. In 2003, she was named high school cheerleading’s “National Contributor of the Year” by the National Federation of State High School Association’s Spirit Committee. Member of the House: 2001-2002 (appointed on September 13, 2001 to fill the seat of her late husband, Rep. Martin J. Myers), 2003-2004, 2005-2006, 2007-2008, 2009-2010.
