JOHANNAH LEDDY DONOVAN of Burlington, Chittenden County, Democrat, was born on September 18, 1944, in Burlington, and has been a lifelong resident. Occupation: Teacher, Vermont Adult Learning. She was educated at Rice Memorial High School, South Burlington, Vermont; Trinity College, Burlington, Vermont (B.A., 1967). She is widow of Thomas Donovan and has five daughters, one son and five granddaughters. Member of: Board of Trustees, University of Vermont; Board of Trustees, Spectrum Youth and Family Services; Advisory Board of Mentoring Program for Incarcerated Women; Chittenden County Democratic Committee; Burlington City Democratic Committee; Christ the King Parish.     SUZI WIZOWATY    


SUZI WIZOWATY of Burlington, Chittenden County, Democrat, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Jan. 6, 1954. She grew up in Europe, Texas and Connecticut, lived as an adult in San Francisco, Chicago, and New Jersey, and settled in Burlington in 1985 with her partner, Joan Robinson. She has degrees from Princeton (BA cum laude, 1977) and Goddard (MA, 1985). She has worked as a bookseller, librarian, newspaper reporter, editor, non-profit administrator (Vermont Humanities Council, Vermont Works for Women), and freelance writer-teacher. She has taught writing at Trinity, Goddard, and Burlington colleges and currently teaches playwriting at Champlain and creative writing and writing for children at St. Michael’s, in the graduate department of education. As an independent scholar for the Vermont Humanities Council, she leads Literature & Medicine discussions in three hospitals, and poetry workshops in jails and other settings. She’s the author of two novels, The Round Barn (Hardscrabble, 2002) and A Tour of Evil (Philomel, 2005). Parallel Justice Commissioner, Burlington Community Justice Center, 2009-2010. Health Access Oversight Committee, 2009-2010. Former board member of Samara Foundation, Burlington Shambhala Center, Peace and Justice Center, Vermont New Jewish Agenda. Member of Noyana Singers (VNA Hospice), Burlington Shambhala Center, Ohavi Zedek Synagogue, Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, Vt. Community Loan Fund, Vt. Natural Resources Council, Vt.
