HOWARD T. CRAWFORD of Burke, Caledonia County, Republican, was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, on May 15, 1947, and became a resident of present town in July, 1970. Occupation: Dean of Students, St. Johnsbury Academy, St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He is married to the former Judith Grumbles, and they have four children. He was educated at Fayetteville-Manlius Central School, Fayetteville, New York; graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Manlius, New York; attended Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York (B.S., 1969); the University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont (M.Ed., 1980). Member of: Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, corporator; past Vermont State Colleges trustee; freshman caucus, 1991-92, vice chair; Republican Whip 1993-94. Member of the House: 1991-92, 1993-94, 1995-96, 1997-98, 1999-2000, 2001-2002 (Chair, House Education Committee, 2003-2004 (Chair, House Education Committee), appointed, February, 2008, 2009-2010. RICHARD LAWRENCE of Lyndon, Caledonia County, Republican, was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, on July 5, 1942. He was educated at Lyndon Institute, Lyndon Center, Vermont; and the University of New Hampshire, Durham, New Hampshire (A.S., 1962). Occupation: Retail owner of Agway in Lyndonville, Vermont.
