          CAROL REED HOSFORD           


CAROL REED HOSFORD of Waitsfield, Vermont, Washington County, Democrat, was born on September 26, 1938, in Farmington, Maine, and became a resident of present town in 1967. She earned a B.A. from Wellesley College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Yale University. She has been married to Charlie Hosford for 45 years. Charlie is an architect and the founder of Project Harmony, a cultural exchange organization. During the 39 years she has lived in the Mad River Valley, Carol has been involved in education, and was the Principal of Waitsfield Elementary School for 20 of those years. Member or former member: Vermont Institutes Leadership Group; Project Harmony facilitator; Mad River Chorale; Education Committee of Federated Church; Valley Rotary. Member of the House: 2005-2006, where she served on the Fish, Wildlife and Water Resources Committee and was appointed House representative to the Vermont Advisory Committee for Mercury Pollution; 2007-2008, as a member of the Education Committee. She is also the House representative to the “Building Bright Futures Council” and a member of the NCSL standing committee on education.
