James received his primary education at St. Peters Elementary School in Rutland, Vt., his high school diploma at Mount St. Joseph Academy, Rutland, Vt., and
his A.S. - General Business in 1979. He is married to the former Lori Creaser and they have one son and one daughter. He is a former Cub Scout Leader.
