MITZI JOHNSON of South Hero, Grand Isle County was born on November 18, 1970 in Clifton Park, New York and became a resident of present town in 1993. She was educated at Shenendehowa Central School in Clifton Park, New York, University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont (B.S. 1993). She paints and dyes scarves sold throughout the United States and teaches piano lessons. Mitzi has also managed vegetable production and the apple harvest crew at the Allenholm Farm in South Hero, assisted at her family’s third generation manufacturing business and worked for the Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force. She is a captain and EMT with South Hero Rescue, founding board member of the South Hero Land Trust, board member of the Chittenden-Grand Isle Counties VNA and member of UVM College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Advisory Board. GRAND ISLE-CHITTENDEN-1 IRA TROMBLEY IRA TROMBLEY of Grand Isle, serving Grand Isle Co. & W.Milton, Democrat. Born on the North Hero family farm April 16, 1952. He graduated from N.Hero Elementary, Milton H.S., U.V.M. (BS, MExtEd-Adult Education) and CAS-Special Education) , J.S.C.(MA-Guidance), and F.S.U.(Cert.-Gerontology). He has worked as a Farmer, Corrections Counselor, Vocational Counselor, Prevention Consultant, Guidance Counselor and School Manager. He currently works doing alcohol and drug screening and as an adjunct faculty in psychology. Ira has been a school board member for four terms and Justice of the Peace two terms. He is a past president of Grand Isle Rotary and of the Franklin Grand Isle Community Partnership. He was a founding member and Secretary of the Franklin Grand Isle Workforce Investment Board for 7 years. He is president of the Franklin Grand Isle Health Care Coalition. He was appointed to the National Convention of State Legislators and the Workforce Development Committee. He is a past member of the VT School Board Association Board of Directors. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster for a decade. Ira's family is his source of pride. Grandchildren Elly and Elona live in North Carolina with his son and daughter-in-law Henry II and Stephy. Ira's daughter Margaret and her husband Jeremy work near Boston. His son Nathan attends college in VT, not to mention an extended family throughout VT.
