CAROLYN W. BRANAGAN of Georgia, Franklin County, Republican, was born on June 5, 1954, in Windsor, Vermont, and became a resident of present town in 1963. She was educated at Bellows Free Academy, St. Albans, Vermont; University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont (B.S.-1976 and M.Ed.-1984). She is married to Christopher Branagan and they have two daughters and one son. Organizations: Franklin County Republican Committee Chair; Member of the Governor's Commission on International Education; Co-Chair of Vermont Legislative Women's Caucus, 2004; Vermont House Education Committee Clerk, 2003-2004; Georgia School Board Chair; Georgia Town Moderator; Georgia Town History Editor; Vermont Interactive Television Coordinating Council; Past Trustee and Chair Vermont Maple Festival; Past Officer and Member of the Board of Trustees for Martha's Kitchen, Franklin County's only free soup kitchen; and Georgia Baptist Church Treasurer.     GARY GILBERT    


GARY GILBERT of Fairfax, Franklin County, Democrat, was born in Staten Island, New York on July 26, 1945 and has lived in Fairfax since 1973. He married Peggy in 1970 and they have two grown sons that live in town. They are members of the United Church of Fairfax. He graduated from Johnson State College (B.S. 1969), the University of Vermont (M.A.T. History 1973) and Johnson State College (M.Ed. 1986). Gary spent 36 years at Bellows Free Academy - Fairfax where he served as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, assistant principal, and Varsity and JV coach in multiple sports. Among the classes he taught were Advanced Placement United States History and Senior Social Studies, where all students studied the legislative process at both the State and Local levels. He also served Fairfax on the Planning Commission, once as the Chair, as the Zoning Administrator, and as a Justice of the Peace. Gary continues to serve as a trustee of the Fairfax Heights Water Cooperative, coaches Junior Varsity Soccer and works as a Motorcycle Safety Instructor in the summer.
