JANICE L. PEASLEE
of Guildhall, Essex County, Republican, was born in Auburn, Maine, on January 20, 1935, and became a resident of present town in August 1953. She was educated in elementary schools in Lewiston, Maine, and graduated from Lewiston High School. Married in 1953, she and her late husband Bert had two sons, three daughters and six grandchildren. She is the owner of Peaslee's Vermont Potato Farm. Member of: Guildhall Community Church; Essex County Farm Bureau; Order of the Eastern Star; Connecticut Valley Sno-Riders; the Vermont Traditions Coalition; the Champion Lands Leaseholders & Traditional Interest Association, Inc.; the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen Clubs and the Ethan Allen Institute. She is a member of the Essex County Republican Committee and Chairman of the Guildhall Town Republican Committee. She was elected to serve as a Vermont Trustee to the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Was appointed to the Vermont Aviation Advisory Council and the East/West International Trade Corridor study committee. She also serves on the Northern Counties Health Care (NCHC) Board of Directors, Northeastern Vermont Development Association (NVDA) and the Economic Development Council of Northern Vermont (EDCNV). A member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association, she is currently working toward her Private Pilot's License. Member of the House: 1989-90 (Government Operations), 1991-92, 1993-94 (Transportation, clerk, 1991-94), 1995-96, 1997-98, 1999-2000 (ranking member), 2001-2002 (vice chairman), 2003-2004, 2005-2006, 2007-2008.
