         CHRISTOPHER A. BRAY        


CHRISTOPHER A. BRAY of New Haven, Addison County, was born in New Britain, Connecticut on June 29, 1955. With long-time family connections to Vermont, Bray returned to live here in 1973. He graduated from the University of Vermont (BA, Zoology, 1977; MA, English, 1991), where he also taught for four years in the English Department. After attending Middlebury College's Bread Loaf Writer's program, Bray founded Common Ground Communications, which provides writing, editing, design and production services to a variety of clients and publishing houses. In 2006, Bray graduated from the Snelling Center for Government's Vermont Leadership Institute. Bray's family includes two grown children, his partner, Kate Selby, and her two children. With Kate, Chris also works on their 82-acre family farm, The Equestry, which offers horse training and riding instruction. Bray's community service experience includes the Economic Development Committee of the Governor's Dairy Task Force; the Middlebury Area Land Trust (currently serving as President); EMT with Charlotte Fire & Rescue; hospital volunteer work; school board technology committee; baseball and soccer coach and referee; and elementary and middle school reading and writing enrichment volunteer.
