of Brattleboro, Windham County, Democrat, was born on December 26, 1930, in Bronxville, New York, and became a resident of present
town in 1981. Employment: Newsweek Magazine, 1954-1980, Chief of Correspondents 1966-1980; Marlboro College, President 1981-1996.
He was educated at Hamilton College, Clinton, New York (B.A. - 1952; J.D. - honorary). He is married to Isabelle (Salamone) Gander

JEANETTE WHITE
of Putney, Windham County, Democrat, was born on May 2, 1943, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Until college she lived in Minnesota
and then lived in many parts of the country until moving to Vermont in 1972. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University
of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa in political science and sociology in 1965 and her Master's Degree in Community Development and Community
Education in 1972 from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. She is married to Bill White and they have two children,
