of Brattleboro, Windham County, Democrat, was born on December 26, 1930, in Bronxville, New York, and became a resident of present

of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa in political science and sociology in 1965 and her Master's Degree in Community Development and Community
Education in 1972 from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. She is married to Bill White and they have two children,
