JAMES W. (JIM) MASLAND of Thetford, Orange County, Democrat, was born in Hanover, New Hampshire, on December 7, 1948, and became a resident of present town in 1979. Occupation: Work-based learning consultant, builder. He was educated at Hanover Elementary, Hanover, New Hampshire; Williston Academy, Easthampton, Massachusetts; Stanford University, Palo Alto, California (B.A., 1972; M.S., 1972). He is married to the former Suzanne M. Sheldon, and they have five daughters and two sons.
