JOE ACINAPURA JOE ACINAPURA of Brandon, Rutland County, Republican, was born in Union City, New Jersey on May 13, 1938 and became a resident of Brandon in 1989. He is a graduate of Rutgers University (BA, 1960) and the University of Colorado (MA, 1970). He is married and has two daughters and five grandchildren. Past public service includes Chair, Vermont Parole Board, Chair; Governor's Veterans Advisory Council, Chair, Vermont Republican Party and Chair, Brandon Selectboard. He presently serves as President of the Board of the Safer Society and as a member of the Vermont Veteran's Home in Bennington. He has coached basketball at Otter Valley Union High School, taught at the College of St Joseph in Rutland and the Northlands Job Corps Center in Vergennes, and served in the U.S. Army for 28 years.
