ANDREW PATRICK DONAGHY
of Poultney, Rutland County, Republican, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 14, 1942, and became a resident of present town
in 1998. After graduating from St. John's Prep, Brooklyn, New York, Andy went to Niagara University where he met his wife, the
former Joan Marie Guzdek. He joined the City of Long Beach Police Department in June of 1963, the same year that he and Joan were
married. During the 20 years he served on the Police Department, he was promoted several times and served as the Department's
Commanding Officer of Detectives. It was also during this time that he graduated with honors from Adelphi University, Garden City,
New York, with a degree in Criminal Justice Management. Upon retiring from the Police Department, he bought and managed a 200 seat
landmark steakhouse in Long Beach, New York, for 10 years. After selling the restaurant, he joined the Law Firm of Elovich & Adell,
Long Beach, New York, as its Senior Investigator. Andy and Joan have lived in Poultney since 1998. He and Joan have three
daughters, two sons, seven grandsons and three granddaughters. Andy is a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Poultney,
where he is a liturgical reader and a member of St. Raphael's Men's Club. Member of the House: 2003-2004, 2005-2006. Home
