WILLIAM J. LIPPERT, JR.
of Hinesburg, Chittenden County, Democrat, was born in Danville, Pennsylvania, on January 18, 1950. Occupation: Samara Foundation
of Vermont, executive director. From 1973-1996 employed by the Counseling Service of Addison County, serving as executive director,
1984-1996. He was educated in elementary schools in Port Treverton and Williamsport, Pennsylvania; Williamsport High School,
Williamsport, Pennsylvania; Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana (B.A., History, 1972); Antioch/New England Graduate School of Antioch
University, Keene, New Hampshire (M.A., Counseling/Psychology, 1979). His partner is Enrique Peredo. Member of: Lewis Creek
Association; Hinesburg Democratic Committee; Genetics Technology Advisory Committee, NCSL. Former board member; Addison County
Battered Women's Project; Governor's Advisory Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse; Outright Vermont, founding member; Vermont Coalition
for Lesbian & Gay Rights, former co-chair; Vermont C.A.R.E.S. (Committee for AIDS Resources, Education, and Services); Vermont
Council of Community Mental Health Services; Vermont Alcohol & Drug Program Director's Association. He has served as a member of
legislative committees on civil rights enforcement (1994), future corrections policy (1995) and Vermont's mental health system
(1996); Judicial Retention Committee (1995-2000); Administrative Rules Committee (1997-2000; Chair 1998-2000) and is a former
