MARK S. YOUNG
of Orwell, Addison County, Republican, was born in Middlebury, Vermont on July 16, 1953. Occupation: President, CEO and
Director of the First National Bank of Orwell. He attended school in Orwell, Vermont; Fair Haven Union High School, Fair Haven,
Vermont; Champlain College, Burlington, Vermont. He is married to the former Susan Conover, and they have one daughter and three
sons. Member of: Independence Lodge F & AM, past master and current treasurer; Cast Off Eights Square Dance Club; Former
member: Fair Haven Union High School board; Lake Region Youth Orchestra Board; Addison-Rutland Supervisory Union, past treasurer.
Currently serves as Orwell's town treasurer and trustee of public funds; National Conference of Insurance Legislators, executive
board (and chair of the International Insurance Committee); Lake Hortonia Property Owners Association, vice president; Trustee of
the University of Vermont; Chair of the House Commerce Committee; Vermont Firearms Safety Instructor; Vermont Bankers' Association,
Inc., past chair. Member of the House: 1993-94, 1995-96, 1997-98, 1999-2000, 2001-2002, 2003-2004, 2005-2006. Religious
